10th Mar 2020. Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) currently has  113,851 confirmed cases, 4,015 deaths and is spread across 110 countries. The top countries/areas/territories being: China: 80924 cases Italy: 9172 cases Republic of Korea: 7513 cases Iran (Islamic Republic of): 7161 cases France: 1402 cases Germany: 1139 cases Spain: 1024 cases International conveyance (Diamond Princess): 696 cases Japan: 514 cases United States of America: 472 cases United Kingdom: 373 cases Panic buying and hoarding of necessities has been seen across the world, with acute shortage of hand sanitizers, disinfectants, face masks, etc. There is shortage of Covid-19 testing kits as well around the globe. Situation in India is relatively calm with 44 confirmed cases till now, but no fatalities. Universal screening of all inbound flights to India has been implemented. 9th Mar 2020. Jyotiraditya Scindia, a major Congress leader, tendered his resignation from the party along with some 22 MLAs. Though he has not mentioned joining BJP, but his meeting the top national BJP leaders all but confirms that. The one and half year old Kamal Nath led Congress government is likely to fall due to this at the earliest. To remind here, the election results is 2018 were quite close and Congress took the lead to form the government along with the smaller parties, while BJP sat in the opposition after three terms, or 15 years of power. The current strength in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly is as follows: Total seats = 230 Congress [+BSP, SP] = 119 BJP = 109 Hence any floor test is going to be difficult for Kamal Nath for sure.
